I feel as though there is a time, especially in a queer person’s life, where they choose to finally live in their truth. There is no specific reason why the moment is chosen, or maybe there is, but in my case there wasn’t and I wanted to create a story that shows what it is like when you finally choose to come into yourself. I feel as though a lot of stories about people in the LGBTQ community are traumatic and often violent and triggering. I wanted to be able to create something to make people feel happy. For a lot of people, the narrative of having unconditional love and acceptance is not a reality. This film is my chance to create a space where that can happen.
