Sarasota’s Harvey Milk Festival celebrates its 11th year this May 7-9 with a slate of concerts, forums and exhibits designed to engage a large and diverse audience. Led by President Shannon Fortner, the HMF also offers youth support and other community outreach programs.
The Harvey Milk Festival is named for one of California’s one of the first openly gay elected official, who died in San Francisco in 1978 at the hands of a gunman. Oak Street Stage is honored to partner with the Harvey Milk Festival to sponsor a special Pre-Festival Concert. Updates at oakstreetstage.org or at harveymilkfestival.org.
Oak Street Stage is a Sarasota venue that offers quality non-religious music in a coffeehouse setting. Admission to events is by voluntary donation so anyone can attend regardless of their ability to pay. Finger foods, snacks, and non-alcoholic bar are available for purchase.
Q /&\ T Talk & LIVE PERFORMANCE:
TOMBOi is the creative project of Alexander Eli, Paige McMullen and Summer Wood. Founded in 2014 in Northeast FL, their songs blend 90s R&B influences alongside driving guitar melodies and a combination of live and electronic beats. The band originated as an outlet for sharing members’ experiences living as queer folx in the South and has since expanded its reach through community involvement, touring and assisting other LGBTQIA artists.
